Is That Crying In The Halls?

8th Graders with electronic babiesMs. Anderson's eighth grade class will be participating in a Real Care baby simulation over the course of the next couple weeks as part of their unit on human reproduction and development.

What does this mean for the rest of the school family?  If you hear a baby crying it's most likely the mechanical doll--don't panic.

Students should be able to provide most care for their baby in class. If the baby is being a distraction, they may step into the hall to provide care. Students are not allowed to be excused from any course work during this time. Part of the process is to experience the challenge of being a full time parent and a student.

For certain special events the babies will be allowed to be programmed into 'day care' setting like during school Mass, PE class and track practice. The baby can also be programmed for 'day care' for weekend Mass/Confirmation meetings, etc. if the student makes arrangements ahead of time. Real Care baby will not be in the care of a student during competitions/track meets. If there is a conflict with an event, a student can receive a babysitter band.
